Copper Trader is a third person open ended RPG set on Gūr, a scattered archipelago full of volcanoes, desert kingdoms, nomadic people, brutal cults, enlightening religions and small settlements with stories to tell - all bound together and torn apart by trade.
Mine ore, farm crops, bake bread, lead an army, Run caravans & freight ships between settlements and influence the ever shifting political tides of five factions vying for control of Gūr. Copper Trader is a purely systems driven game, things will go wrong, people will die and no single play-through pans out the same!
The Iberiti Coalition, Tyressi Family, Kingdom of Sumurta, Nomad clans and the bandits all want their slice of Gūr. Will you stay out of their way and see what happens? Or will you cause chaos?
Factions trade and specialise in different goods, prices of goods not only fluctuate with the political climate, but the actual one as the production of a faction and the viability of their trade routes are both determined by the weather & season!
You level up by doing things, the more you do, the higher your proficiency in a trade gets. Each proficiency stage nets you a new avenue to explore, fight or do business. You can be a Miner, Trader, Sailor, Baker, Commander, Politician, Architect, Farmer and more!
Gra, Biil, Tre and Han are the four seasons, they change what grows, what sells and who buys, who invades and what roads can be traveled.
Copper Trader focuses not on hardcore survival but in immersion. For example, at night, your minimap is useless and you must look to the stars to navigate. In a sandstorm at night… you're screwed.
The Calendar used throughout Gūr is complicated, you might want to read the lore to understand it.
Most of your actions in Gūr have consequences, yes, but even if you do nothing NPC's still go to work, camels still collapse from exhaustion and delay an important message being delivered to a king, which starts a war… The world of Gūr lives whether you take action or not.
You may ask "Hey, this all sounds like, pretty cool. Don't all of these features and systems interacting with eachother cause huge massive issues sometimes?". Well, yes, but mostly the issues or 'bugs' are actually quite fun and awesome so I just let it slide. The games free man.
All of the 3D Assets, Textures, Animations, Lore, Writing, World Design, World Building, Quest Design, Music and Sound Effects have been entirely, 100% painstakingly created by my untalented myself.
